My oh my, Marshall! You are one month old!
Daddy and I have had such a great time getting to know you this month. I still can’t get over how adorable you are! And I have loved seeing all the faces you can make to express yourself. You purse your lips together, smile, frown, stick your tongue out, suck your bottom lip in, furrow your brow, and open your mouth wide to scream. Of course, at this point, I’m sure there’s not a lot of intention behind most of your looks. But they’re cute all the same. You’ve just started branching out beyond crying and making new sounds. I’m not sure you’re cooing yet, but you’re definitely grunting. You also have this scream that is preceded by a silent, open-mouthed, face-reddening cry. It is just gut-wrenching to see and hear. Some of the things that bring out Mr. Fussy-Face are diaper changes, being in your car seat, having to wait the five seconds it takes me to undress so you can eat, and your arms flopping and hitting you in the face when you’re trying to sleep. On the other hand, you love bath time, snuggling on our chests, using the bathroom when your diaper is off, looking out the windows, having your toes tickled, and staring up at your parrot and mobile. Most of the time you enjoy tummy time on the floor–especially if you’re naked. And you have been rolling yourself over onto your back during tummy time since you were a week and a half old! Between that and the way you bust out of the tight swaddling we do to you, you are definitely a strong little wiggle worm! I can’t wait to see what month two holds in store for us. I love you!
