My oh my, Marshall, you are TWO. We celebrated your birthday on Super Bowl Sunday just like last year and the year before and just like we will probably do for years to come. We kept the party small this year. It was just the three of us. We did some of your favorite things at home, had balloons and cake with colors that matched the Super Bowl teams, and then we went to your first theater movie. It was a really fun day for all of us. I cannot even begin to express how in love with you we are. You make everything in our lives lighter and brighter. We are and will always be your biggest fans. We love you dearly.
Pancake breakfast to start the day.
You weren’t too sure what to think of us singing “Happy Birthday” to you. By the end of the day you were singing it, though.
Presents! You were very eager to tear into these.
Playdough. Oh yeah! “Open this!”
Elmo! You couldn’t wait to get him out of the box.
Hugging him through the plastic.
You went “night night” with Elmo.
Awww. Big hugs.
This is as creative as your parents get.
Despite your face in this photo, you loved your balloons. You carted them all over the house.
We practically had to tear you away from the playdough. This is definitely one of your current favorite things.
“Fire. Hot. No touch.”
Daddy helped you blow out your candles.
You are a lover of icing, my dear.
The chocolate wasn’t so bad either.
Watching your favorite show – “The Chica Show.”
Being so super adorable that I just can’t stand it.
The first thing you said when you woke up that morning was “Baby Daphne here?” She lives too far away for a visit, but we got to Skype with her and your Uncle Matt.
Movie time! Snoopy got to come with us.
Quick car wash on the way.
You were a little skeptical at first.
Here we go!
You surprised us by sitting through the entire movie. You have grown into such a big boy, Marshall!
And then it was back home and off to bed. Happy birthday, sweet thing.
